The People of the Book, by Geraldine Brooks. It's a fictional account of how the Sarajevo Haggadah was created and preserved by various actors through history, somewhat like Girl in Hyacinth Blue. I love everything Brooks has written, Year of Wonders, March, Nine Parts of Desire. I didn't read anything all spring, and this book brought me back to my reading self this summer. MKP
I'm in a "Reading my old favorites" mode. I just finished 'Dune', by Frank Herbert, and now I'm re-reading J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Lord of the Rings', for the umpteenth time.
I'm reading a series of children's cookbooks that also teach history. They are so much fun! My favorite is the one about Abigail Adams - she was quite the woman! The book is called What was cooking in Abigail Adams's White House?
I'm going to answer this question, because I am still puzzled a little by it. I read a book by Judy Fuson "Wagging Tails, Swishing Tails, Fluffy Tails and Other Tales". Judy Fuson is an animal communicator who communicates with animals. The funny thing is that my dog Tiger kept finding the book and chewing it up. He had never chewed a book before, and he has not chewed one since, but this book he was attracted to. I kept finding him in the middle of the living room with it. It now has no cover and has a bite shaped part missing from the upper left corner. Hmmmmm....this has been puzzling to me. Does he know something that I don't?

Queen Bees & Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman
Almost done with it. Great resource for helping a mom figure out her daughters hormones and brain!
Also perusing lots of kitchen design books!
